January 2024 DIA Friendship Doll Exhibition and Lecture

The "Friendship Dolls" exhibition was held at the Detroit Institute of Arts for six months from the end of 2023. Three Friendship dolls (Miss Akita, Miss Hiroshima, and Miss Osaka) were on display, and Miss Akita, from the Detroit Children's Museum, was also on display along with many of her furnishings and letters. Also on display, although not Friendship dolls, were Miss Akita's younger brother, Sugio, and Tomoki, from the Detroit Institute of Arts. A lecture by world doll research expert, Mr. Pate, was also held in January 2024.
